Situated in the White Mountains of New Hampshire, Tarleton Castle is an inspiring home for artists of many mediums. Begun in 2004, it was largely a solitary effort but TCA has grown into a group effort with the help of several volunteers. Programming began in 2015, and 2018 welcomes TCA’s first residency programs.

cobb concrete sculpture workshopThese week-long workshops provide an excellent opportunity to make a piece for permanent installation in TCA’s sculpture ArtTrail.  The TCA ArtTrail will be an ongoing effort of participating artists and surrounding communities, consisting of bas-reliefs, walls, columns, grottos, bridges, stand-alone pieces and more.  The trail will wind among the Castle complex and the woods of the TCA grounds.

pioneer residency programTarleton Castle Arts is offering its initial residency program with an opportunity to participate in the construction of Tarleton Castle, its studios and grounds, and the creation of permanent installation of sculpture.

Our intention is not only to provide studio opportunities, but to give each artist a chance to contribute their ideas, designs, and artwork to the very construction of TCA’s campus. We believe that connecting 3D artists with building arts not only gives them a chance to enhance their constructive skills but also expands their ability to showcase their art beyond the form of an individual sculpture.
